Denis Montanar - Friuli

Denis Montanar produces wine close to the Slovenian border near the small town of Villa Vicentina in Friuli.

The Montanar family have been farmers since 1904, growing crops such as grapes, soybeans and corn. In the family, they have always had a strong focus on naturalness and sustainability, which is why it also came naturally to Denis to fully adopt the organic principles back in 1996. Today, Denis has 10.5 hectares of vineyards, all of which are cultivated organically and with manual labor.

He works mostly with traditional and local grapes such as Tocai Friulano, Verduzzo, Refosco dal Peduncolo as well as Merlot and Cabernet franc, which are mainly grown on sandy soil with a mixture of silt and clay.

Denis's wines also carry the label "Triple A", which stands for Agricoltori, Artigiani, Artisti (farmers, craftsmen, artists). The brand was invented by a man named Luca Gargano, who wanted to highlight the natural wines. Briefly explained, the brand tells about low-intervention winemaking without the use of chemicals and with great respect for nature. The wines that Denis produces are unique and complex. A talented winemaker who deserves great respect for the living wines he produces! THANK YOU Dennis.
